New Freedom Academy is a Worcester addiction treatment center option that is located a short drive away in the town of Canterbury, NH.
This residential center, called New Freedom Academy (NFA) provides a safe and supportive environment for adults between the ages of 18 and up to begin their recovery from addiction and/or discover treatment alternatives for dual-diagnosis disorders (e.g. anxiety, depression, bipolar disease). NFA’s program is anchored in 12 Step philosophy combined with various other evidence-based therapies that target the mind, body and spirit. In addition, medical and behavioral health professionals evaluate all clients and are actively involved in the development and implementation of all aspects of NFA’s addiction treatment and recovery program.
New Freedom Academy can house up to 20 adults. Each client has responsibilities within the NFA community and is required to be an active participant in group therapies and all other scheduled activities. In addition to working the 12 Steps, attending AA meetings, performing daily chores, and doing service work, this Worcester addiction treatment center believes that it is equally important to make time for fun and games. That said, NFA offers opportunities to play, explore, discover, and experience “a new life of abundance”. (Eric Spofford, Founder of New Freedom Academy)
New Freedom Academy is an affordable, licensed and highly respected alternative to a private-pay addiction treatment center.
We accept many health insurance plans and work at keeping the insurance process simple and straight-forward for both the client and his family. Our administrative team takes charge of all the details, acting as a patient advocate so clients and their family can keep their focus on recovery.
This Worcester addiction treatment center appreciates the importance of family relationships in the recovery process.
Addiction is considered a ‘family disease‘, so NFA has a dedicated family services team that educates family members about the disease of addiction, as well as directs them to resources for their own recovery from the effects of addiction.
Typically, when a client leaves an addiction treatment center, re-entry into the community-at-large can be a bit scary and overwhelming. With that in mind, New Freedom Academy has a discharge planning team whose primary task is to put together a continuum of care plan. Aftercare planning is tailored to the needs of each adult. Family circumstances, safety matters, extended treatment opportunities and sober living are critical matters that impact the odds of achieving and maintaining a sustainable recovery. NFA knows that residential addiction treatment is simply the beginning of a clean and sober life, and they remain dedicated to each client’s journey toward a permanent recovery.
